Expat Faculty Preparation

Preparing to serve in medical education missions

CAAP is committed to the professional growth of medical learners, faculty and administration who seek to glorify God through their teaching and learning.  This section will be committed to resources focused upon the knowledge, skills and attitudes that promote one’s ability to transmit and translate the clinical skills of a professional to the role of Teacher.

Here are two sets of resources.

The first, and where we’d suggest you begin, is a series of excellent faculty development presentations available through Christian Medical Dental Association to its members. You can go to the main menu of Medical Education International: Teaching Healthcare in a Global Setting or download the list of topics which is complete with hyperlinks and additional information provided by one of our faculty development experts at CAAP and an executive board member, Dr. Susan Radecky, who also taught some of these sessions.

The second is a nearly exhaustive list of courses and resources for increasing your global health competency, learning the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of poverty, medical education as integral mission and health development.

Please contact us if you wish to discuss this further or desire advice specific for your particular situation.
